La corresponsal de Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) en Guárico,  Giovanina Guillén, denunció que fue agredida, el 26 de julio, por partidarios del candidato Henrique Capriles Radonski durante el recorrido "casa por casa" e intentaron quitarle la cámara a su reportero gráfico. 
Según las declaración de Guillén en VTV es la tercera oportunidad que cubriendo estos actos  son "agredidos, golpeados y tampoco tuvimos acceso a las entrevistas” expresó. Asimismo, indicó que les fue negada la información a los periodistas del Sistema Nacional de Medios Públicos. 
Al respecto, el ministro del Poder Popular para la Comunicación y la Información, Andrés Izarra, publicó en su cuenta twitter @IzarraDeVerdad “Nueva agresión contra equipo reporteril de VTV mientras cubría campaña opositora en Guárico. Periodistas golpeados y cámara destruida” informó.
Sin embargo, entorno a estos hechos existe un serie de contradicciones referida a su veracidad, ya que, el secretario del Colegio Nacional de Periodistas, seccional Guárico, Libonny Pérez, estuvo documentando la situación con representantes del equipo del Sistema Nacional de Medios Públicos y con diferentes colegas en la zona, quienes le confirmaron que no hubo tal agresión.
